Thárros Child and Youth Care Centre is a temporary safe haven, where we nurture babies and children under 12 years as the first measure to their restoration. During their 3 to 6 months stay we work in partnership with the external social worker to ascertain the best outcome for the child. The primary goal is reunification with biological family however in situations where this is not possible, permanent foster care is sought.
In keeping with our mission, we offer a variety of therapeutic programmes to assist the children in our care. These programmes include Play Therapy, Protective Behaviours, Groupwork, Dance and Drama, and other interventions that serve the individual child best.
Our daily routine is very much as you would find in any home and our children enjoy a routine that teaches them life skills and responsibility. School aged children attend public schools in the area
while our in-house ECD Centre provides a fun and exciting environment for babies to 6-year-olds.
